MAC-101: Get to know your Mac, manage it, keep it safe

An introductory, fully hands-on training for those who want to learn macOS from scratch. Participants get to know the interface, management tools and system settings; they install software, manage users and permissions and configure network settings. By the end of the training they can work on their own in the Apple ecosystem.

In each section the interface side and its terminal counterpart are shown together, so you can get things done both from the menu and with commands.

VoiceOver and accessibility

4. Working with applications

Launching and managing applications
Launchpad and Dock
Installing with the App Store
Managing software from the terminal with Homebrew

5. Security and backup

System and software updates
Password and iCloud Keychain
Privacy and security settings
Backup with Time Machine
Disk encryption with FileVault

Certificate

Participants who complete the training receive a "macOS Basic User (MAC-101) Certificate of Attendance".
